Biography

Clint Ind has been litigating complex commercial matters for 20 years.  He represents companies, executives and investors in cases involving breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, shareholder oppression, derivative claims, and breach of commercial contracts.  Clint has litigated in state and federal courts throughout the country and is admitted to the Trial Bar for the Northern District of Illinois. Clint has taken numerous commercial cases to jury trial and has secured multimillion dollar jury awards and favorable settlements for his clients.

His practice focuses on representing clients in the following types of matters:
  • Breach of Fiduciary duty and shareholder disputes in privately held entities.  These claims typically arise when shareholders of partnerships, LLCs or corporations believe that they are owed more than they are and then take more from the company than they are allowed to take by statute and under the shareholder agreements. Clint has taken these cases to trial in numerous courts.
  • Claims of misconduct in crypto and blockchain based ventures.  These claims are in many ways similar to shareholder oppression cases, with the added complexity of onchain assets flowing through multiple wallets tied to the venture.  Clint’s understanding of blockchain and crypto platforms allows for a full accounting of transactions and issues for efficient representation.
  • Breach of commercial contract cases of a complex nature.  Clint has years of experience litigating and taking to trial complex commercial cases including supply agreement disputes, the applicability of terms and conditions under UCC Article 2, commercial lease disputes, and construction contract performance claims.

Complimentary to his trial and commercial litigation background, Clint has served in-house as General Counsel and Head of Commercial Contracts for international distribution companies and in a compliance capacity.  This in house experience gives him a firsthand understanding of how businesses manage risk and disputes. That perspective informs how he approaches cases for clients today — working matters up strategically for favorable resolution while remaining fully prepared for trial when necessary.
